| OBITUARY - Daya Jayasundara Rtd. DIG |
An Old Rajan, one of the 7 Jayasundara Brothers of Lewella passed away after a brief illness. While at School, he was a Stubbs’ Shield boxer in the years 1960-1963 & also represented Sri Lanka Schools in boxing. He represented College in Cricket, Soccer & Hockey. After leaving Dharmaraja, he joined the Police Department as a Sub-Inspector where he took to boxing, cricket & rugby. Daya captained the Police Rugby Team in the year in 1974. He donned he national jersey against All-England in 1971. He was a member of the National Rugby side in the following year for the Asian Championships and toured Hon Kong in 1972. Daya W. was the regular choice as flanker in the Sri Lanka side during the period 1971- ’77. |

This year, we have scheduled OBU - Annual Trip on the dates- 14/15/16 th of October(Friday/Saturday/Sunday) and the destinations are- Kilinochchi, Puneryn, Mullaithivu, and Anuradhapura.(details will be advised in due course). As usual our beloved friend Gen. Wanigasekera will lead the team with the support of Friends. Same as previous, participants are limited to 40 due to facilities issues and will fill the vacancies on first come first serve basis. Kindly advise S.
