St. Anthony's win on Parabola

The Anthonians scripted a morale-boosting win over fancied Dharmaraja in their Under 17 second round match at Lake View.


Put into bat, the Rajans reached 148 for seven in 39 overs. The match was stopped after one over on account of rain and the restart took place forty minutes later.


Yasith Samararatne 38 not out with five fours and a six, was the pick of the batsmen. There were several small contributions that helped them to get near the 150 mark.


Prabath Sachin and Nimnaka Jayatilleka, with two each, led the wicket-takers.


Tharindu Hewage showed the way with a quick 27. But it was all-rounder Prabath Sachin who took the batting honours with 36. Left-armers Thushan Herath and Upendra Warnakulasuriya had two for 10 and two for 21 respectively.
