Dharmaraja News
RAJANS’ RUGBY SEASON BEGINS
They are: Royal (last year’s champions), St. Thomas’ Mt., St. Peters’, Issipathana, Wesley, Prince of Wales, Moratuwa, Trinity, Kingswood and St. Anthony’s. You will notice that Dharmaraja is the only Buddhist School in this elite group. While all these schools spend millions on rugby, together with foreign coaches, Dharmaraja operates on a shoe string budget. One wonders how they are managing at all to remain in the top group. It is all due to the sheer dedication of the Old Rajans’ Rugby Association, over the last 20 years. It is all so important to remain in the Division 1 because it enables Rajans to keep playing rugby at the highest levels and for recognition as one of the top schools in the country, contributing to the national rugby pool. ORRA needs a lot of financial, logistical and moral support. The other day, Old Rajan Ruggerites of Australia led by Indrajith Bandaranayake, donated Rs.100,000. More assistance is very welcome. Pitted against the infra-structures of this kind of the other top schools, even though we cannot hope to  win the championship, our goal is to continue remain in division I. Those interested to extend their support, please contact Indika de Zoysa, the live wire, at e mail : indika.de.zoysa@intel.com. Our short term goal is to win at least a few matches this season and someday the championship. Old Rajan Ruggerites of the world Unite!
