Pertinent question posed to Dharmaraja Principal for refusing admission to a child

KANDY: While there are complaints galore against the irregularities in the admission of children to year one in popular schools country-wide, Director National Schools P. N. Ilepperuma has inquired from the principal of Dharmaraja College, Kandy to report under which clause of the Circular 17/2016 that admission to year one was refused to the son of Sanjeewa Samarakoon of Dharamaraja Mawatha, Kandy.

Sanjeewa Samarakoon of Dharamaraja Mawatha had complained that his son who obtained 98 marks at an interview was refused admission to year one of 2017.

Samarakoon has said that he is an officer of the Bank of Ceylon, Kandy and subsequently transferred to Peradeniya Branch of the bank. He came to Kandy after serving in the North Central Province and resided at Dharamaraja Mawatha.

Responding to his complaint to the Ministry of Education Director National Schools has directed the principal of Dharmaraja College to inform him the particular clause he refused to enter the name of the son of Samarakoon in the final selection list.
